About
I’m Kaya — an artist and drawing guide based in Den Bosch, the Netherlands.
Drawing, for me, is a practice of attention. It is a way of staying close to what is in front of you — and noticing what happens inside you as you respond to it.
In my sessions, we don’t rush toward finished results. We work slowly. Through observation, simple line exercises, blind drawing, and focused studies of light and space, we build trust in your hand and perception. Technical foundations such as proportion, perspective, and tone are part of the process — but always in service of expression.
Rather than following a rigid curriculum, I respond to the person in front of me. Each session grows from attentive listening — adapting exercises to your interests, whether that’s comics, animation, architecture, or abstract exploration. I value the “space in between”: the quiet moments where something unexpected becomes possible.
My background is in architecture (MSc, TU Eindhoven), where I developed a strong understanding of spatial awareness and structure. I currently teach drawing and design at university level alongside my independent practice. These experiences give me a solid technical foundation — but over time, I’ve become more interested in guiding process than delivering fixed content.
Alongside teaching, my own artistic practice continues to evolve. Recently, I began painting abstractly — working directly from feeling rather than representation. This shift has deepened my understanding of honesty in making. Teaching and making inform one another; I guide others while remaining a student of the process myself.
I create spaces for those who feel curious to practice art — spaces where attention, sincerity, and exploring matter more than speed or performance.
If that resonates, you are most welcome here.
Kindly,
Kaya

Core Values
Creativity as a Healing Practice
Drawing is more than skill — it’s a way to reconnect with yourself, slow down, and process emotion through presence and expression. It gives your logical brain a break and invites curiosity to take the lead.
Gentle, Personal Guidance
I teach with kindness, patience, and attentive listening. Every student’s path is unique, and growth emerges through encouragement, not pressure.
Intuition over Perfection
Art isn’t about getting it “right.” It’s about trusting your hand, your eye, and your inner world. Technique serves your expression, not the other way around.
Strong Foundations, Spacious Imagination
With architectural training, I bring solid structure — perspective, proportion, and spatial awareness — while keeping the space open for exploration and creative flow.
Integrity & Honesty in Expression
Whether teaching or creating, I value authenticity. I show up as I am, and invite others to do the same.
Art as a Mirror
Art reflects — your inner world, your perceptions, and your responses to the world around you. My aim is to help you engage with that reflection, noticing what emerges and connecting more deeply with yourself — no experience required.
